Sound Designer

I created a city sound scape to play during pre-show and intermission to make the audience feel like they were sitting outside a club in Chicago waiting for the show to start.

  • Creation of Soundscape

    • Chose a city scape sound effect in a library

    • Added a slow saxophone playing underneath of the city scape

    • Distorted the saxophone to make it sound distant.

Microphone List

  • Components of Microphone List

    • Channel Number

    • Position of microphone on actor

    • Corresponding number and color of the microphone packs and labels on the board

    • Sound Board was separated by male and female characters to make it easier for mixing

Speaker Placement

  • I placed two monitors stage right and left standing up right with the pianos and actors microphones patched to them to provide audio for the actors and the pianist.

  • Added a wedge monitor in front of the conductor with pianos and actor microphones patched to it to provide audio to the conductor for cue lines.

  • Placed a wedge monitor in the back of the orchestra with the piano patched to it to provide audio for the entire orchestra.
