The Odd Couple 3D Set Rendering
I was tasked with creating a scene design in Vectorworks in 1/2 inch scale for The Odd Couple in Longwood University’s Lab Theater to better understand how to use Vectorworks and to adapt a design based out of a script. I had to create a floor plan of the Lab Theater and render it in 3D, create a floor plan of the set and extrude it to 3D and then add texture to it as well. Below is the scene design from the Script The Odd Couple.

For the set to fit into the Lab Theater based on the previous design I had to shrink the walls down and compact the set. I left enough space for actors to walk through and so the set did not seem crammed to the audience. The walls are labeled alphabetically for wall elevations which will be shown next.
Wall Elevations
The walls reach up 12 feet and have crown molding along the top of them and molding around the doors and windows. There are also masking flats that are labeled H through N.
Front Elevation
I created the walls, doors, doorways, windows, kitchen table, and kitchen chairs myself and used the libraries provided by Vectorworks for the rest of the furniture.
